What is AMP?
Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) is a new opensource framework maintained by Google which focuses on speeding up webpages. The project at the beginning itself attracted many web developers and users because of its promise. AMP isn’t only built for mobile we can build a complete website for all devices, but Google AMP cache is only allowed for mobile devices.
Lots of customization, Addons, Plugins, and other third-party JS would slow down pages. When these pages are loaded in small footprint devices then it would actually consume lots of memory, data and time. This lead to the creation of a mobile-first approach and even further to AMP.
Why AMP is Fast?
AMP internally uses various optimization to slow down the loading speed, some of the techniques are listed below which is, in turn, a long topic which we will discuss in our later articles.

AMP in Blogger?
This is an important topic that you should never miss, Blogger doesn’t support AMP by hand, so we have to scarify many features that we have used earlier and somehow find an alternative to them. AMP doesn’t support any Javascript which blocks the construction of DOM.
JavaScript widget like Table of content in blogger cannot be implemented in AMP unless converted to amp-iframe embeds which need a lot of work. But we have discussed how to implement a TOC without jQuery and only with amp elements and pure JavaScript (Only in Desktop Version).
More specifically only AMP allowed JS elements can be used in our AMP themes, but AMP offers various additional features like AMP stories, AMP ads, etc. AMP by its core completely restructures the basic HTML elements like img tag to amp-img, script to amp-script etc.
Does Blogger Fully Support AMP?
No, Blogger Officially doesn’t support AMP.
Is it Possible to Implement AMP on Blogger platform
AMP is implemented by sacrificing some of the features like JS widgets and replacing all elements with AMP elements (Sometimes there will be no alternatives to replace).

First of all, I like to say that I don’t recommend AMP themes for newbies to blogging, you have to be very convenient with Blogger dashboard and Post HTML view which can be toggled in the post editor.
Blogger by default create image tags with img but we have to manually convert the img tag to amp-img and remove unsupported elements inside the tag which we will discuss below.

AMP Limitation in Blogger
You cannot use the Blogger contact form directly but you can follow our article on Contact Form in AMP Blogger which guides you to insert a working contact form. Most of the widgets that depend on JavaScript would not work but there is some amp-frame implementation that you can use instead.
Some users have reported that their Adsense earnings were reduced after implementing AMP but I don’t know whether it’s still a problem.
